DR MALCOLM S. JONES, III, MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Malcolm S. Jones is known as "Steve" to friends and family. Prior to coming to Fallbrook in 1995, he practiced veterinary medicine at the Raymond Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Pasadena for 8 years. Raised in Corona del Mar, his interest in animals developed when he worked in a local veterinary hospital at the age of 17. Although he has been practicing for almost 20 years, he still considers himself a "student" of the science and with the trust of his clients in mind he enthusiastically pursues many hours of continuing education every year. He is the father of two children, Renee, who graduated from Berkelee College of Music in Boston and Malcolm who recently graduated from the California Maritime Academy. Other members of the family include "Calvin Kline" a Sheltie, "Pearl", a greyhound, "Spike", the one-eyed cat, and two African Spur Thigh Tortoises named "Wahini" and "Kahuna".

GAIL C. JONES, ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

Gail Jones manages the administrative side of the practice. Born and raised in New York, she graduated from SUNY College at Brockport with a BS in Health and Physical Education. Her interest in business and management developed when when she worked for the American Trade Center in London. Her health background and interest leads her to pursue the latest in animal foods and diets.

LINDA GOOD, ASSISTANT MANAGER

Linda is the main reason Alvarado Veterinary Hospital became so actively involved with Operation Greyhound. Formerly a client with three greyhounds, we asked her to join us in 1996. She still has a greyhound and continues to be active with the rescue organization on her time off. Formerly from Scotland, you will definitely recognize her voice when she is fulfilling her role as receptionist. Linda is equally valuable working at the front desk or in the animal treatment area.

STACEY SWITZER, REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Stacey recently graduated with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, following almost 2 years of experience at an Animal Hospital in her hometown of Hemet. She noticed our ad on this website, came in for a working interview and joined us in January, 2006. We are so lucky to have found her as technicians in general are a rare commodity, much less one of her caliber. She also has an interest in exotics and has plans to volunteer at the San Diego Zoo.

RYAN KENNEDY, VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Ryan was a sophomore at Fallbrook High School when he applied for a position with us. He was active in the Future Farmers of America and was a member of the Health and Human Services Academy. He is now attending U.C. Riverside as a neuroscience major with a goal of becoming a medical doctor. Ryan has been a vital asset to our team of veterinary technicians.

SUSAN SOUZA, VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

A native of Texas, Susan was "drafted" by Dr. Jones when she came in as a client and mentioned her technician background. She gained her experience at an animal hospital in Tennessee prior to moving to Fallbrook. In addition to small animals, Susan is a horse lover. She owns a thoroughbred hanoverian named Langston and rides him in hunter/jumper competitions.

LISA MCCANN, RECEPTIONIST

Lisa is the first voice of Alvarado Veterinary Hospital. As the lead receptionist, she answers your calls and makes sure the rest of us see to your concerns. She is a trained medical assistant with a substantial background in oncology and family medicine. Lisa decided to lend her talents to veterinary instead of human medicine and we were extremely fortunate to have her join us in April 2005.

DONNA GONZALES, VETERINARY ASSISTANT

We first met Donna as a client and hired her in April 2005 as a sophomore in high school. Donna aspires to be a veterinarian and has more pets from more species than the rest of the staff combined.

DYLAN JAMES, VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Dylan joined us in January, 2006 having moved to Fallbrook from Orange County. He completed an R.O.P. curriculum in Animal Health Occupations and has several years of experience in the field.

ALLISON JONES, VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Erin, Allison's older sister left our employment, after being accepted to U.C. Davis to study veterinary medicine. Equally involved in our local FFA and interested in veterinary medicine, Allison is following in her sister's footsteps and we eagerly hired her in December 2005.

NAOMI CISNEROS, RECEPTIONIST/VETERINARY ASSISTANT

When we were looking for part time help in May of 2006 we immediately thought of Naomi, who has always been so helpful and pleasant in her job at the pharmacy next door to us. Though she has been utilized primarily in reception, she is also learning veterinary assistant duties and fills in there.
