Dr. Malcolm S. Jones III, Medical Director
Dr. Malcolm S. Jones is known as "Steve" to friends and family. Prior to coming to Fallbrook in 1995, he practiced veterinary medicine at the Raymond Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Pasadena for 8 years. Raised in Corona del Mar, his interest in animals developed when he worked in a local veterinary hospital at the age of 17. Although he has been practicing for almost 20 years, he still considers himself a "student" of the science and with the trust of his clients in mind he enthusiastically pursues many hours of continuing education every year. He is the father of two children, Renee, who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Malcolm, who recently graduated from the California Maritime Academy. Other members of the family include "Calvin Kline", a Sheltie, "Pearl", a Greyhound, "Spike", the one-eyed cat, and two African Spur Thigh Tortoises named "Wahini" and "Kahuna."

Gail C. Jones, Administrative Director
Gail Jones manages the administrative side of the practice. Born and raised in New York, she graduated from SUNY College at Brockport with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. Her interest in business and management developed when when she worked for the American Trade Center in London.

Connie, RVT, Medical Manager
Connie is a Registered Veterinary Technician with extensive training in emergency critical care services and diagnostic imaging. She has been in the field for over 20 years. Previously, she was at Tufts University teaching veterinary students in neurology topics. At our hospital, she is the lead technician and facilitates the admission and processes for our patients. She also provides the daily care and love during required hospitalization. Connie performs all in-house laboratory duties and assists with patient anesthesia and coordinates our in-house daily work schedule. Connie graduated from Western Career College in Northern California with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1994. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has two pets, a Shepherd named "Snowball" and a Terrier named "Sidney." She is married with three children.

Susan, Veterinary Assistant
A native of Texas, Susan was "drafted" by Dr. Jones when she came in as a client and mentioned her technician background. She gained her experience at an animal hospital in Tennessee prior to moving to Fallbrook. In addition to small animals, Susan is a horse lover. She owns a Holsteiner gelding, "Buddha," and rides him in Hunter/Jumper competitions. She is highly educated, with a B.S. in Speech Communication, French, and Biology.

April, Office Manager
April started working in the field of veterinary medicine in 1995. She began work at a small, single doctor practice and continued gaining her experience over the following decade working at a large emergency/specialty practice in addition to several multi-doctor practices. She brings a wealth of knowledge in the area of medical records and experience in the reception area. Having worked as a veterinary assistant she is capable of providing assistance to other staff members and patients. Prior to joining us, she was an Office Manager in a Murrieta practice. In addition to working full time at our office, she also attends college full time. After several years of study in Pre-Veterinary Medicine, she decided to pursue a degree in Business Management. April loves animals, especially horses. She is currently owned by two cats, "Bella" and "Zora," and a Labrador named "Ferguson."

Naomi, Receptionist
When we were looking for part time help in 2006,we immediately thought of Naomi, who has always been so helpful and pleasant in her job at the pharmacy next door to us. She is a great asset to us as she is trained as a veterinary assistant, a receptionist, and she is bilingual. She is currently attending Palomar College after which she plans to become a physical therapist. She is the proud mom of three dogs.

JoAnn, Receptionist
JoAnn has been in the veterinary field as a receptionst for over 17 years. She served on the board of the San Diego Labrador Retriever Club from 2004 to 2008. She is an active participant in the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned and injured animals. She has a wealth of knowledge in customer care. She has extensive experience in the adminstrative and management side of client relations. Not only is she a friendly face that helps facilitate client transactions here at Alvarado, but she also helps run a business with her husband. She is married and living in Temecula with her three dogs, two cats, and one bird. Her hobbies include showing her Labradors, boating, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

Karylyn, Receptionist
Karylyn began working in the veterinary field in 2002 as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Arts in 2007. She recently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program that will begin in the summer of 2010. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling, and being involved in her church. She is the proud owner of a kitty named "Kayla."

Stephanie, Receptionist
Stephanie joined our practice in November 2011. She has been in the veterinary
field for about five years. She has previously worked as a veterinary
assistant/technician and helps us in the reception area. She has one cat at
home named "Caddie." Her kitty cat is the love of her life and the princess of
the household! Stephanie is a student at Palomar College and will hopefully be
transferring to a university to major in zoology. Her ultimate goal is to
become a zookeeper.
